New Polished finish on my Stanley Biggs Pentrich boots
New Polished finish on my Stanley Biggs Pentrich boots - I recently gave my Stanley Biggs Pentrich boots, crafted by William Lennon, a much-needed polish using Saphir Medaille d’Or shoe polish, and the results are fantastic! These boots, with their heavily oiled leather, present a challenge when it comes to achieving a mirror-like shine. However, the Saphir polish worked wonders in bringing out a deep, rich glow, enhancing the leather’s natural texture and color (I used a combination of Black and Brown to enrich and darken the toe caps and heal counter) without overpowering its rugged character.
The leather on these boots is oiled and waxy by design, which makes them perfect for handling rough conditions and maintaining water resistance, but it also means they aren’t designed for a high-gloss, mirror shine. While I couldn’t get a true mirror finish, the polish added a subtle gloss that brings out the beautiful richness of the leather. The Medaille d’Or polish also nourishes and conditions, keeping the boots in top shape for the long run. I’m thrilled with how they turned out—a solid, earthy shine that feels true to the boots' character. For anyone looking to maintain their oiled leather boots, Saphir Medaille d’Or is worth every penny, giving that perfect balance between shine and durability without altering the leather’s rugged appeal.
